RAWALPINDI: A 28-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted along with her two young daughters in Rawalpindi has reportedly been killed, while police have recovered the children and arrested her brother-in-law in connection with the case.
According to police sources, the woman, identified as Nabeela Shaheen, was abducted from Dhok Jang on September 12 along with her daughters. A case was registered at Sadar Bairuni Police Station on a complaint filed by her brother, Nabeel Javed.
During the investigation, police questioned the woman’s brother-in-law and subsequently arrested him after reportedly obtaining key information about the case.
Police sources allege that the suspect, along with other accomplices, killed the woman following a property dispute and previous litigation. The sources said she was allegedly shot and that her body was later buried in a pit.
Police are continuing efforts to locate the woman’s body and are investigating the alleged involvement of other suspects.
The two children were safely recovered following information provided by the arrested suspect. Police said the children had also been at risk of being harmed.
Further investigation into the alleged kidnapping and killing is underway.
