RAWALPINDI: A female student of Allama Iqbal Open University was found dead at her home in Awan Town, within the jurisdiction of Naseerabad Police Station, Rawalpindi, on Thursday.
According to police, the woman’s brother reported that his sister had been sleeping in her room and was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a dupatta the following morning. Family members told police that they suspected she had died by suicide, but authorities have not yet reached a final conclusion.
Police teams collected forensic evidence from the scene before shifting the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the death will be determined after forensic evidence and the post-mortem findings are examined.
Authorities have not ruled out other possibilities and said the final cause and circumstances of death will become clear once the forensic report is completed.
