RAWALPINDI: A 30-year-old man has died in Rawalpindi after his family alleged that he was administered an expired injection at a private clinic.

According to the deceased’s family, Amjad had visited a private clinic in Hazara Colony for treatment of a sore throat. They alleged that, on the doctor’s instructions, a nurse administered an expired injection.

The family said Amjad complained of severe pain in his arm throughout the night following the injection. When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to DHQ Hospital and later to Holy Family Hospital.

The family alleged that he could not be provided a ventilator at the hospitals and was subsequently shifted to a private hospital for further treatment.

According to the family, doctors at the private hospital performed surgery on Amjad’s arm, but he later died after an infection reportedly spread through his body.

The family said Amjad was a father of two children and that his elder son has a disability.

The family further claimed that Amjad suffered a severe reaction following the injection. His funeral prayers were held and he was buried afterward.

The allegations regarding the injection and the cause of death would require confirmation through an official medical investigation and relevant authorities.
