The first phase of the annual international Tablighi Ijtema will begin today (Thursday) after Asr prayers in Raiwind, with arrangements completed to accommodate approximately one million participants.
According to the event administration, thousands of religious participants and visitors from Multan, Balochistan, Lahore, Gujranwala and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to attend the first phase.
Extensive arrangements have been finalised at the gathering venue to provide accommodation, food, ablution facilities and other essential services for the expected participants.
Several government departments and emergency services have also been deployed to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the religious gathering.
The district administration, City Traffic Police, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), Rescue 1122 and Suthra Punjab teams are working together to facilitate participants and manage arrangements.
The City Traffic Police has prepared a special traffic and route management plan to maintain the flow of vehicles and provide convenient access to visitors.
Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 medical teams and LESCO technical staff remain on alert at the venue and surrounding areas to respond to emergencies and electricity-related issues.
Under the Suthra Punjab initiative, special cleanliness arrangements have also been made to maintain hygiene throughout the gathering.
The annual Tablighi Ijtema is one of Pakistan’s major religious gatherings, attracting participants from different parts of the country and abroad.
