COLOMBO — Pakistan’s practice session ahead of their Super Eight opener in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup against New Zealand national cricket team has been cancelled due to heavy rain in Colombo.
The Green Shirts were scheduled to train at the RPS Stadium before facing New Zealand on February 21. However, persistent rainfall forced the team to abandon their practice session.
Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson is set to address a press conference at 6:30 pm PKT ahead of the crucial encounter.
Pakistan’s Super Eight schedule
Pakistan advanced to the Super Eight stage after finishing second in Group A with three wins from four matches. The team secured victories against Namibia, USA and the Netherlands but suffered a 61-run defeat to India during the group stage.
The 2009 T20 World Cup champions will face England on February 24 in Kandy before taking on hosts Sri Lanka in their final Super Eight fixture on February 28 in Colombo.
