DOHA, March 31: Qatar has suspended the visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani travelers, according to an official advisory issued by the Pakistan Embassy in Doha, affecting passengers planning to enter the Gulf state without prior visa approval.

The embassy said the decision comes “due to the current situation,” and advised all Pakistani nationals to secure a valid visa before departure, warning that travelers arriving without one may face entry restrictions or be denied access at the airport.

Advisory urges advance visa arrangements

In its statement, the embassy emphasized that obtaining an appropriate visa in advance is now mandatory for entry into Qatar. The visa-on-arrival facility, previously available under certain conditions, is no longer applicable until further notice.

Officials urged travelers to check visa requirements carefully and complete documentation prior to travel to avoid inconvenience. The advisory also clarified that entry into Qatar will not be permitted without a valid visa under the revised guidelines.

The development is expected to impact short-term travelers, including tourists and business visitors, who previously relied on on-arrival visa access.
