LAHORE, May 20: Punjab Energy Secretary Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti met a World Bank mission in Lahore to discuss potential cooperation on energy efficiency projects and conservation measures across the province.
The World Bank delegation was led by Lead Energy Specialist Jas Singh. The meeting focused on possible projects to reduce energy wastage, lower operational costs and support environmental sustainability in Punjab.
Officials discussed priority areas for future interventions in the industrial, residential, commercial and public sectors.
Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti said the Punjab government was committed to promoting energy conservation and the adoption of energy-efficient technologies to support sustainable development goals at the national and provincial levels.
The World Bank mission expressed interest in supporting initiatives related to energy efficiency, institutional capacity building and public awareness campaigns for responsible energy use.
Both sides agreed to strengthen coordination for identifying and developing viable projects that could contribute to energy security, economic growth and environmental sustainability in Punjab.
