LAHORE: The Punjab women’s hockey team won the Prime Minister’s National Under-21 Women’s Hockey Championship after defeating Sindh in the final.
The victory secured the national title for Punjab and highlighted the team’s performance in the tournament, with provincial officials praising the players’ discipline, teamwork and preparation.
Punjab Minister for Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar congratulated the squad and said the players had delivered a strong performance throughout the competition.
He also praised the Sports Board Punjab management for preparing the team for the championship.
Sports Minister Praises Punjab Team
Khokhar said the players demonstrated skill, discipline and teamwork during the tournament and described the result as a positive sign for women’s sports in the province.
He said the provincial government was working to expand sports opportunities for women under the policy direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The minister added that female athletes were being provided facilities and opportunities to compete at national and international levels.
He said Punjab’s title win could encourage more girls to take up sport and represent the province in future competitions.
