LAHORE: Millions of students and parents in Punjab are set to benefit from a new digital system under which examination result cards will be made available online.
According to media reports, all nine educational boards in Punjab have approved plans to shift result cards to a fully digital system, with traditional paper-based cards expected to be gradually phased out.
Under the new system, students will be able to access their result cards from home shortly after their examination results are announced. A dedicated digital portal is being developed to securely store academic records and make them easily accessible.
Digital Rollout to Begin With 9th Grade and First-Year Students
Officials plan to introduce the system in phases. In the first stage, Class 9 and first-year students will receive digital result cards. Class 10 and second-year students are expected to be incorporated into the system at a later stage.
The new digital documents will include QR codes and other security features, allowing colleges, universities, employers and other institutions to verify academic credentials quickly.
The digital result cards are also expected to carry the same official and legal status as traditional result cards. Students will be able to use them for university and college admissions, employment, scholarships, equivalence applications and other official requirements.
Fewer Visits to Board Offices
Education experts say the move could save students and families both time and money by reducing the need to visit examination board offices to collect or replace result cards.
The initiative is being viewed as another step toward digitizing Punjab’s education system and providing students with faster and more convenient access to their academic records.
