Pind Dadan Khan: A seminar was held at Khewra Salt Valley under the Third Elevation initiative of Punjab Small Industries Corporation, Department of Industries, Commerce, and Investment. The seminar was attended by the Director of Punjab Small Industries, Regional Director Hafiz Saleem Arshad, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Asghar. Distinguished citizens of the city, LCI officers, media representatives, and people associated with the salt industry were invited. The stage was hosted by Chaudhry Tanveer, In-charge of Khewra Salt Valley.
Addressing the seminar, Regional Director Punjab Small Industries Hafiz Saleem Arshad said that a Salt Workshop has been established at Khewra Salt Valley, where shops have been built to display salt samples. This will provide opportunities for import and export to both domestic and international buyers. Despite poor road conditions, it is encouraging that 600,000 tourists visited last year. Punjab Small Industries will provide loans to those making salt products so they can establish small industries. Tourists from within Pakistan and abroad will be able to buy salt products from here, which will increase local employment. He added that white salt and pink salt will be marketed under the name of Khewra Salt Valley.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Asghar also shed light on the marketing of salt. In the end, the Regional Director Rawalpindi distributed shop certificates through a lucky draw to ten individuals associated with the salt industry. These shops will enable them to prepare and market salt products for export, as well as sell them to domestic tourists. This initiative will further contribute to the development of Punjab Small Industries.
