LAHORE: The annual tuition fee for MBBS and BDS programmes at government medical and dental colleges in Punjab has been increased from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000, representing an increase of more than 233 per cent.
The fee increase will apply to students securing new admissions this year, while students who were admitted up to last year will continue to pay the previous fee.
Under the revised fee structure, students enrolled in MBBS and BDS programmes at government medical and dental colleges will now be required to pay Rs50,000 annually, compared with the previous annual fee of Rs15,000.
The increase means students admitted this year will pay Rs35,000 more per year than students admitted under the previous fee structure.
However, the revised fees will not apply to students already enrolled in the colleges. They will continue to pay their fees at the existing rates.
