Punjab launches paid climate internship for youth with Rs60,000 monthly stipend

LAHORE, July 7, 2026: The Punjab government has launched the second phase of the Chief Minister’s Climate Leadership Internship Program, offering selected young graduates a monthly stipend of Rs60,000 for three months.

According to the Punjab Environment Protection and Climate Change Department, online applications have opened for the paid climate internship program, which aims to train young people in environmental governance, climate change response and policy-related fieldwork.

The department said 50 percent of the seats have been reserved for female students to encourage women’s participation in the environment and climate sector.

Selected interns will receive field-based learning, study visits to Environmental Protection Agency offices, capstone projects and practical training under the supervision of experts.

Applicants must be between 20 and 27 years of age. They must also have at least a bachelor’s degree with 75 percent marks or a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. The program is open to graduates from various academic fields.

Interested candidates can submit online applications through the official EPA Punjab portal until July 18, 2026.
