LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at Governor House Lahore to discuss inter-provincial coordination and issues of mutual interest.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two provinces, with both sides highlighting the importance of political consensus and coordination in the current situation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab governor said all political parties, including the opposition, should work together to address national challenges. He added that inter-provincial coordination can be improved through exchanges of cultural and educational delegations.
He also referred to Pakistan’s diplomatic role, saying the country is contributing to efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East, and emphasised that dialogue remains the preferred path to resolving conflicts.
PPP organisational matters discussed
In a separate meeting at Governor House Lahore, PPP Lahore President Faisal Mir, along with party workers and office-bearers, met the Punjab governor to discuss organisational matters and party affairs.
The governor said that differences of opinion are part of democratic processes and stressed the need to address workers’ concerns and strengthen party unity. He acknowledged the role of party workers and said their contributions remain important.
He also noted that PPP leadership would continue engagement with workers, adding that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to visit Lahore.
Condemnation of Bannu blast
Separately, the Punjab governor condemned the suicide blast in Bannu and expressed condolences to the families of those killed.
He also prayed for the recovery of the injured and said that efforts to eliminate terrorism would continue, adding that national unity is essential in addressing such threats.
