Pind Dadan Khan: On the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, a grand operation to remove encroachments and widen main roads was carried out in Pind Dadan Khan city under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Pind Dadan Khan, Ms. Nadia Parveen. As part of this operation, expensive signboards and sheds constructed for protection from sunlight and weather conditions were demolished.
During the operation, the Pind Dadan Khan Municipal Committee’s loader and staff were seen working swiftly. The action, including the removal of the shed of Muslim Commercial Bank, was conducted without discrimination. Officials stated that if shopkeepers voluntarily remove the encroachments, no damage will be caused. For security during the campaign, police personnel, including the City Police in-charge, were deployed.
This action commenced on Monday, January 20, 2025, at approximately 4 PM. Amidst the operation, the shopkeeper community expressed frustration and chaos due to the recent anti-shopkeeper policies of the Punjab government, citing a decline in business activity. According to a representative of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, a similar grand operation was previously carried out in Khewra.
