Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to launch a new airline named “Punjab Air.” According to sources from the Punjab government, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has stated that false news regarding the government’s intention to purchase PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) should be avoided.
Sources indicate that Maryam Aurangzeb has announced that, following the directive of Nawaz Sharif, the government has decided to launch the new airline “Punjab Air,” with work on its feasibility set to begin soon.
It has also been reported that Punjab Air will be developed with the cooperation of private investors, and there is an option for provincial government shares to be included. Notably, Nawaz Sharif has proposed the acquisition of PIA to the Punjab government, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also expressed interest in purchasing PIA.
