Expansion of Public Transport Network
Officials confirmed that a fresh fleet of electric buses has been secured for the next phase of the project. Once operational, the buses will serve thousands of commuters daily, connecting them to schools, workplaces, and marketplaces through a modern, eco-friendly transport system.

Authorities stated that route inspections and technical testing are already in progress to ensure smooth operations once the service begins.
Strengthening Green Mobility Across Punjab
According to transport officials, nearly 120,000 passengers currently use electric buses every day, reflecting a rapid shift toward cleaner and more convenient travel. The expansion is expected to extend the network’s reach, reduce fuel consumption, and cut harmful emissions across the province.
Official Launch Scheduled for November 2025
The new phase is set to be inaugurated on November 19, 2025. Government representatives emphasized that extending the electric bus system to smaller districts will not only support Punjab’s clean air initiatives but also improve mobility for communities that rely heavily on public transport.
Future of Sustainable Public Transport
With additional buses on the way, Punjab aims to steadily grow its electric transport network in the coming months, reinforcing its commitment to modern, sustainable, and accessible public mobility.
