LAHORE: Punjab’s Directorate of Drug Control has imposed an immediate ban on the supply, distribution and sale of a specific batch of Glycosting 1ml injection following reported cases of dangerously slow heart rates among patients, according to a provincial drug alert.
Under Alert No. 125/2026, authorities ordered the affected batch to be withdrawn from use as a precautionary measure. The alert identifies Glycosting 1ml injection, batch number BBG11, with an expiry date of January 2028, as the affected batch.
The injection contains Glycopyrrolate 0.5mg and Neostigmine Methylsulfate 2.5mg.
Hospitals Asked to Quarantine Affected Batch
According to the alert, complaints were reported from hospitals in different parts of Punjab, including cases involving an unusually slow heart rate. The Provincial Quality Control Board ordered the immediate suspension of the affected batch as a precaution while the reported concerns are addressed.
Distributors have been directed to immediately stop supplying the identified batch and submit their quality-control, complaint and pharmacovigilance records to the relevant authorities.
Hospitals, distributors and pharmacies across the province have also been instructed to quarantine the affected stock and provide the relevant records to drug inspectors.
Public Advised Not to Use Batch BBG11
Patients and members of the public have been advised not to use Glycosting 1ml injection from batch BBG11 and to contact their healthcare provider or pharmacist for appropriate guidance.
The reported adverse events are the subject of regulatory review; the alert concerns the specified batch and does not by itself establish that the product caused every reported incident.
