Pune Businessman Murder Case: Police Claim Fiancée and Her Lover Planned Killing at Lohagad Fort

Indian police have claimed that the killing of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agrawal near Pune’s Lohagad Fort was part of a planned conspiracy involving his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary.

According to Pune Rural Police, Agrawal died on June 18 after allegedly being pushed into a gorge at the historic fort near Lonavala. The case was initially reported as a fall, but investigators later arrested Goyal and Chaudhary on allegations of murder and criminal conspiracy.

Police allege that Goyal and Chaudhary had planned the killing in advance and made more than one failed attempt before the fatal incident. Investigators are also examining phone records, CCTV footage and witness statements as part of the case.

According to Indian media reports citing police, one earlier attempt allegedly involved Goyal pushing Agrawal, though he survived. She reportedly explained the incident at the time by saying she had panicked after seeing a snake and was trying to protect him.

Investigators allege that on June 18, Chaudhary was already present near a secluded spot at Lohagad Fort when Goyal and Agrawal arrived. Police claim Goyal gave a pre-arranged signal before Chaudhary allegedly pushed Agrawal into the gorge.

Further investigation has also focused on a cancelled pre-wedding trip to Bali. Reports said Agrawal’s passport went missing before the trip, and police are examining whether it was deliberately hidden as part of the wider plan.

Agrawal and Goyal were engaged in February 2026 and were expected to marry later in the year. Police are investigating the motive, including reports that Goyal was not prepared for the marriage.

The case has drawn wide attention in India because of the alleged involvement of the victim’s fiancée and the location of the incident at a popular tourist and heritage site.

Police said the investigation is continuing, while the allegations against the accused remain subject to court proceedings.
