Islamabad, March 10, 2026: Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), operating under the Ufone brand alongside its digital telecom brand onic, has successfully acquired 5G spectrum in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) 5G spectrum auction held in Islamabad. This acquisition marks a pivotal step in Pakistan’s digital transformation, bringing faster connectivity, ultra-low latency services, and new digital experiences for consumers, businesses, and industries.

The 5G spectrum secured by PTML (Ufone) will also be utilized by Telenor Pakistan following the completion of its merger with PTML (Ufone), pending regulatory approvals. The combined entity (MergeCo) will leverage this spectrum to deliver advanced digital services to more than 70 million customers nationwide, creating a robust digital platform for the country.
The introduction of 5G is expected to have far-reaching implications. For consumers, it promises ultra-high-definition video streaming, immersive cloud gaming, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and faster access to entertainment and services. For businesses, 5G will unlock innovations such as smart factories, AI-powered analytics, connected logistics, and mission-critical cloud connectivity.
