SHANGLA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar Khan has reiterated that securing the release of former prime minister Imran Khan remains the party’s top priority, saying PTI will continue its political movement through constitutional and democratic means.

Speaking at a workers’ convention in the Dheri area of Shangla, Junaid Akbar said the party would continue its campaign despite arrests, legal cases and political pressure. The convention was attended by PTI leaders, office-bearers and party workers from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PTI Announces Strategy Meeting

Junaid Akbar announced that a key party meeting will be held on July 22 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to finalize the party’s future protest strategy.

He also claimed that multiple cases had been registered against him over the years but said he would continue his political activities.

Leaders Outline Party Position

PTI Central Spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai told participants that the Shangla convention marked an important stage in the party’s campaign for Imran Khan’s release. He said PTI remains committed to constitutional governance, democratic principles and the rule of law.

Provincial Deputy General Secretary Nawaz Mehmood Khan stressed the importance of upholding the Constitution, while senior PTI leader Fawad Ali Noor said the party would continue advocating for democratic rights.

PTI Malakand Division President Fazal Hakim Khan said the party would challenge any alleged misuse of authority against its workers through legal and constitutional channels. He also said the provincial government would continue efforts to seek relief for residents regarding taxes in Malakand Division.

Protest Planned for August 5

Party leaders announced plans to hold a protest on August 5, stating that the venue would either be Islamabad’s D-Chowk or outside Adiala Jail.

Speakers also called for the withdrawal of criminal cases against PTI workers and urged supporters to remain united during the party’s upcoming political activities.

At the conclusion of the convention, participants adopted a resolution calling for Imran Khan’s release, the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law, strengthening democratic institutions and the withdrawal of criminal cases against political workers.
