MARDAN: Advisor for Health Ihtesham Khan PTI Government Committed to Public Welfare and Transparency in Healthcare, Advisor for Health Ihtesham Khan Advocate has stated that the PTI government does not believe in false promises and deception. The provincial government is utilizing public tax money solely for public welfare. Through transparency measures in the Health Card program, the PTI government has saved one billion rupees. Ensuring that healthcare services are provided at people’s doorsteps is our primary goal.He announced that a separate, well-equipped unit for children will be established at Takhte Bhai Hospital, which will soon be included in the Health Card facility. Furthermore, Takhte Bhai Hospital will be upgraded with modern facilities and transformed into a model hospital. He expressed these views on Thursday during a visit to Takhte Bhai Hospital with a high-level UNICEF delegation.
Accompanying him were UNICEF Chief Rodrick Roque, UNICEF Education Coordinator Mrs. Momina Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Mardan Azmatullah Wazir, Director of Mother and Child Health Hazrat Hayat Khan, Assistant Commissioner Takhte Bhai Junaid Khalid, DHO Javed Iqbal, MS Takhte Bhai Hospital Imran Johar, DMS Rubina Riaz, DMS Muhammad Sajjad, and Dr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman. The Advisor for Health and UNICEF Chief inspected various hospital wards and assessed the establishment of the new children’s unit.
Ihtesham Khan reiterated that the PTI government is dedicated to taking practical steps for public welfare and providing all necessary facilities to the people. He assured that the provincial government is fully aware of public hardships and is committed to serving the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite limited resources. He further stated that there is no place for corrupt elites in the province, and the central government is displeased with PTI’s excellent governance, which is why it is creating obstacles for the provincial administration.
He emphasized that, in line with the vision of leader Imran Khan, the PTI government is committed to eliminating corruption and establishing good governance in all institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Noting that Takhte Bhai Hospital experiences a heavy patient influx after District Mardan Hospital, he criticized previous governments for neglecting its development. However, he assured that the current administration is making every effort to equip the hospital with modern facilities. Bringing good news to the public, Ihtesham Khan announced that Takhte Bhai Hospital will soon be included in the Health Card program. He also highlighted PTI’s introduction of revolutionary programs for the underprivileged and revealed that a Ramadan package will be provided to low-income families during the holy month of Ramadan.Additionally, he assured that free medicines will be made available in OPDs across all hospitals in the province. The PTI government is undertaking multiple initiatives to enhance the healthcare sector. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Health Department has decided to have District Health Officers (DHOs) and their staff take an oath against corruption to ensure transparency and efficiency in the system.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expanded the Health Card scheme to cover 100% of the province’s population. Furthermore, new doctors and paramedical staff are being recruited to address staff shortages in public hospitals.He also stressed the importance of strengthening healthcare centers at the grassroots level and optimizing the use of medical equipment and resources in hospitals. This initiative aims to ensure that patients receive medical services locally, reducing the burden on teaching hospitals.These measures are part of PTI’s broader efforts to improve the healthcare system and provide quality medical services to the people.
Meanwhile, Advisor for Health Ihtesham Khan, along with the UNICEF delegation, also visited Hatian, Jewar, and Lundkhwar hospitals.
