KARACHI, September 18, 2026: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended sharply higher on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 1,841 points as a decline in global crude oil prices lifted investor sentiment.

The KSE-100 Index closed at 170,884 points, marking a strong rebound as investors responded positively to easing international oil prices.

Market sources said rising global crude oil prices during the trading week had remained a key concern for investors and weighed on trading activity.

However, the decline in international crude oil prices on Friday triggered a positive response at the PSX, helping the benchmark index finish firmly in positive territory.

Trading activity remained significant, with around 570 million shares changing hands during the session. The total value of shares traded stood at approximately Rs22 billion.

The market’s overall capitalisation increased by Rs190 billion, closing at Rs19.038 trillion.

The latest session reflected improved market sentiment following the easing of oil-price pressures that had concerned investors during the week.
