KARACHI, October 30, 2026: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended the last trading session of October on a negative note on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling 784 points to close at 166,409, snapping a four-day winning streak.
The decline came after the index gained approximately 4,800 points during the previous four trading sessions, as investors moved to book profits following the recent rally.
According to market sources, Friday’s decline erased around 16 percent of the gains accumulated over the preceding four sessions, indicating profit-taking in existing positions.
Despite the recovery witnessed earlier in the week, the stock market ended October with an overall decline of approximately 3,500 points.
During the month, the KSE-100 Index touched a high of 170,688 points and a low of 161,250 points, reflecting fluctuations in market performance.
Trading activity remained substantial throughout October, with more than 10.25 billion shares changing hands in transactions valued at approximately Rs425 billion.
Meanwhile, the market’s total capitalization declined by Rs538 billion during the month, settling at Rs18.388 trillion.
The figures indicate that the gains recorded during the final week were insufficient to offset the broader losses accumulated throughout October.
The benchmark index ultimately closed the month at 166,409 points, reflecting continued volatility in Pakistan’s equity market.
