KARACHI, September 24 — The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended sharply lower on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index shedding more than 1,700 points as uncertainty over US-Iran negotiations weighed on investor sentiment.
The KSE-100 Index closed at 170,498.94 points, down 1,733.57 points, or about 1.01%, from the previous close of 172,232.51. Official PSX data confirmed the closing level and decline.
Market sentiment had improved a day earlier on expectations of progress in US-Iran diplomacy and softer international oil prices. However, the absence of further progress in negotiations renewed investor caution on Thursday.
The benchmark remained volatile during the session, moving between a high of 172,491.16 and a low of 170,418.38 — a trading range of more than 2,000 points.

The broader market also remained under pressure. The All-Share Index dropped 1,128.70 points to 103,103.09, while the KSE-30 Index declined 544.11 points to 50,739.69.
