ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GWAlpha Tech (Pvt) Ltd, the operational arm of the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), to strengthen cooperation in standards, conformity assessment and technical capacity building.
The agreement was signed at the PSQCA office in Islamabad by PSQCA Director General Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool and GWAlpha Tech Chief Advisor on Accreditation Ms. Ismat Gul Khattak.
The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation aimed at aligning Pakistan’s technological development with internationally recognized standards and practices.
Under the agreement, GWAlpha Tech will gain timely access to international standards, including those developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and ASTM International. The access is expected to support compliance in areas including aerospace design, development and certification.
The collaboration will also provide opportunities for Pakistani experts to participate in international standards committees and technical forums, supporting greater representation in global standard-setting processes.
The two organizations will further collaborate on training programmes, workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at strengthening technical expertise and promoting a culture of compliance.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool said the partnership reflects PSQCA’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s quality infrastructure and support the development of indigenous capabilities.
She said cooperation with NASTP would help ensure that Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem remains aligned with internationally recognized standards and practices.
Ms. Ismat Gul Khattak described the agreement as an important milestone for NASTP, saying the collaboration would support aerospace innovation while helping ensure that its outputs meet international standards of credibility and compliance.
The partnership brings together standardization and aerospace technology stakeholders with a focus on integrating compliance, innovation and technical excellence.
