The countdown to the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has begun, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirming the tournament window for 2027.
The 12th season of the HBL PSL will be played from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with the tournament set to feature eight teams for the second consecutive season.
The window was finalized during a meeting of the HBL PSL Governing Council in London, attended by representatives and owners of all eight franchises.
PSL 12 Set to Build on Previous Season
The 11th edition of the PSL marked a major change in the league’s player recruitment process, with the PCB introducing a player auction for the first time instead of the traditional player draft.
The previous season also attracted a record crowd of 32,461 spectators for the final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league’s potential on the global stage, featuring exciting matches, strong crowds and new broadcasting records.
He said the board was committed to delivering another successful edition of the tournament.
Player Auction and Direct Signings Details Next Month
PSL CEO Salman Naseer said millions of fans in Pakistan and around the world were already looking forward to the 12th edition.
He said the announcement of the tournament window was only the first step, with all eight franchises expected to compete strongly for the title in 2027.
Details regarding direct player signings and the player auction are expected to be announced next month, while the complete schedule, venues and ticketing information will be released at a later stage.
Peshawar Zalmi Enter as Defending Champions
Peshawar Zalmi enter PSL 12 as the defending champions after ending a nine-year wait for the title in the previous season.
