Lahore, April 1, 2026 — Persistent rain halted play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 encounter between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi at Gaddafi Stadium, with the match unable to begin and both sides forced to split points.
The downpour began just minutes before the scheduled toss at 6:30pm and grew heavier with time, leaving no opportunity for play. Ground staff immediately covered the pitch and worked to dry the outfield, but conditions remained unsuitable. Match officials eventually called off the fixture 30 minutes before the cut-off time for a five-over contest.
As a result, both teams were awarded one point each. The outcome takes Peshawar Zalmi to three points from two matches, while three-time champions Islamabad United secured their first point of the tournament.
The result also impacted the points table, with Zalmi moving up to second position, pushing down Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans. Islamabad United climbed to sixth place, edging past Rawalpindi Raiders, who are still searching for their first win of the season.
Upcoming fixtures
Peshawar Zalmi are scheduled to face tournament debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 8 in Karachi. Meanwhile, Islamabad United will take on Quetta Gladiators on April 4 at the same venue.
