ISLAMABAD, September 29, 2026: Prof Dr Naveed Sultana has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Education at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) for a three-year term, with the appointment taking immediate effect.
The appointment was made by the President of Pakistan in his capacity as Chancellor of AIOU, in accordance with the university’s governing laws and regulations.
According to official notifications issued by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and the AIOU Registrar’s Office, Prof Dr Naveed Sultana will lead the faculty’s academic, research and administrative affairs during her tenure.
Before assuming the new position, she served as Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Educational Planning, Policy Studies and Leadership (EPPSL) at the university.
Her academic and administrative experience includes leadership responsibilities in educational planning, policy studies and institutional management.
The university expects her appointment to contribute to the development of academic programmes, research activities and administrative coordination within the Faculty of Education.
AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Mahmood congratulated Prof Dr Naveed Sultana on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
Faculty members, principal officers and university employees also extended their congratulations and best wishes for her three-year tenure.
