Abu Dhabi, January 27, 2026 — President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to tolerance, inclusivity, and peaceful coexistence during a meeting with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting focused on the importance of dialogue, social harmony, and mutual respect among diverse communities. President Zardari praised the UAE’s approach to fostering coexistence and highlighted its relevance in an increasingly interconnected world.

Paying tribute to the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Zardari lauded the UAE’s national vision of tolerance and human fraternity. He said the country’s ability to promote unity and mutual respect among more than 200 nationalities had positioned it as a global example of social cohesion.
The president noted that these principles closely align with Pakistan’s own values of interfaith harmony, social inclusion, and respect for cultural and religious diversity, which he said are rooted in the country’s Constitution and societal traditions.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Member of the National Assembly; Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party; Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi; and Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
Officials said the engagement reflected Pakistan’s continued emphasis on promoting tolerance and coexistence in its domestic and international outlook.
