Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday expanded the greeting of the Chinese New Year and the spring festival at Chinese President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen the “friendship of clothing iron” between Pakistan and China. In a letter of greeting, the President told his Chinese counterpart that he was looking forward to discussing ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and friendship with him in Beijing. He repeated the continued support of Pakistan for one Chinese policy and described it as an essential part of Pakistan’s foreign policy. President Zardari said that Pakistan and China enjoyed the timeless and strategic partnership of cooperation. This unique and exemplary bilateral relationship was brought up and strengthened by unwavering efforts on the leadership of both countries, he added. He also thanked President Xi Jinping for his visionary leadership in the development of relations with Pakistani and Chinese and economic corridors (CPE), except that last year he recognized the remarkable progress of China in various sectors. He also wanted President Xi Jinping good health and expressed hope that he would continue to develop and prosperity of the Chinese. The Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival, starting on January 29 this year, is a festival that celebrates the beginning of the New Year in the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar, which refers to the end of winter and early spring.
