Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – In a powerful display of humanitarian solidarity, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), alongside international partners, has delivered critical aid to hundreds of families in Swat affected by poverty and disaster-related challenges.

The relief operation, carried out in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRCS), and the Norwegian Red Cross (NorCross), reached 216 families with food supplies, hygiene kits, and essential household items. Buckets, mugs, jerrycans, and insecticide-treated nets were among the distributed goods aimed at improving health and sanitation conditions.

In a targeted effort to support the most at-risk groups, PRCS and IFRC also provided direct cash assistance. Forty pregnant women received financial support to help manage maternal health needs, while 350 families were granted multi-purpose cash to cover urgent expenses with dignity and autonomy.

The distribution ceremony was attended by PRCS Chairperson Mrs. Farzhana Naek, PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairperson Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Secretary General Mr. Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, and senior representatives from IFRC, TRCS, and NorCross. Volunteers and staff from PRCS played a key role in organizing and executing the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Naek emphasized PRCS’s commitment to reaching underserved communities across Pakistan. “This initiative reflects our mission to serve humanity without discrimination, and we are grateful to our partners for standing with us,” she said.

IFRC’s Head of Delegation in Pakistan, Mr. Farid Abdulqadir, reaffirmed the Federation’s support for disaster-affected families, while TRCS Head of Delegation Ms. Beyza Taner expressed continued solidarity with Pakistan’s humanitarian efforts.

The delegation also visited the PRCS Swat Branch and participated in a Plantation Drive under the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) program, symbolizing a shared commitment to long-term resilience and environmental stewardship.

PRCS continues to lead with compassion and coordination, ensuring that vulnerable families receive not just aid—but hope, dignity, and the tools to rebuild.
