Tensions between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have further escalated and the PPP has decided to openly criticize the government’s policies, Express News reported.
Sources revealed that the PPP leadership has empowered its leaders to publicly criticize the government’s decisions and directed them to challenge its policies, especially in the federal and provincial governments.
The PPP leadership has reportedly issued detailed instructions to its members advising them to actively criticize the government’s ineffective and flawed policies.
Expressing concern that silence on government actions would be seen as tacit approval, the party has instructed party officials to raise their voices against what they see as harmful policies.
According to party sources, the PPP believes that keeping silent on critical issues could lead to political damage, with the blame for the government’s bad decisions falling on the opposition party. The leadership is determined not to let the government’s failure tarnish the party’s image.
In line with these guidelines, the PPP mandated its central and provincial officials to focus on the flaws in the federal government’s strategies and address them openly in the political arena.
The move marks a significant shift for the PPP, which has previously maintained a more measured response to the ruling government’s moves. The latest directive comes amid rising political tensions and suggests an intensifying battle for influence between the two main political parties.
