LOWER DIR: Police jawan Shah Wazir, who embraced martyrdom in a terrorist attack in Bajaur district near the Afghan border, was laid to rest with full honors in his native village, Chinarono Doshakhel Talaash.
The funeral prayers were attended by a large number of police officers, security personnel, and locals. DPO Lower Dir Abdul Salam Khalid, SP Elite Force Fahad Khan, and Colonel Abrar of 184 Wing Dir Scouts were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the funeral, DPO Abdul Salam Khalid paid tribute to the fallen policeman, saying his sacrifice would always be remembered. He assured the family of the martyr that the police force would continue to stand by them in every difficult time.
He further said that establishing peace and defeating terrorism was a shared responsibility of both the security forces and the public, and vowed that terrorists would be defeated at all costs.
