MARDAN: In the exchange of fire between the city police and the alleged miscreants, one accused was injured and another escaped, according to a police spokesperson under the leadership of SHO Police Station City Abdul Salam Khan, during the blockade near canal road ashrafabad, the police signaled two suspicious persons on a motorcycle to stop, who opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory action of the police, one accused was arrested while injured, while the other accused left the motorcycle and escaped. According to the police spokesperson, the arrested suspect was identified as Abdul Baseer son of Yaqoob Khan resident of zandodhere, who is wanted and convicted in various cases of theft, robbery at gunpoint and drugs. The injured suspect was immediately shifted to the hospital. 30 bore pistol and motorcycle 125 were recovered from the possession of the accused. The police have started a search operation in the area to arrest the absconding accused.
