PNS Khaibar participates in Exercise Turgutreis-XIII with Turkish Navy

ISLAMABAD (Feb 13, 2026): The newly commissioned PNS Khaibar participated in the bilateral naval exercise Turgutreis-XIII with the Turkish Naval Forces during its maiden voyage from Türkiye to Pakistan.

According to the Director General Public Relations (Navy), PNS Khaibar visited Aksaz Naval Base in Türkiye, where it engaged in joint activities and operational drills with Turkish Navy units.

During the port call, the Commanding Officer of PNS Khaibar met Vice Admiral Rafet Oktar, Southern Sea Area Commander of the Turkish Navy. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and enhancing collaboration for regional stability.

Vice Admiral Rafet Oktar, along with Rear Admiral Hamdi Abanoz, Commander Aksaz Naval Base, and other Turkish Naval officers, later visited the ship.

Joint exercise and coordinated patrol

Following the port visit, PNS Khaibar took part in Exercise Turgutreis-XIII alongside the Turkish Navy ship TCG Heybeliada and a Turkish Naval Forces SH-70 helicopter.

The exercise included a range of sea maneuvers aimed at rehearsing joint maritime operations and improving interoperability between the two navies. Upon completion of the drills, both ships conducted a Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Officials said the successful execution of the bilateral exercise and coordinated patrol reflects the continued strategic partnership and defense cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.
