GILGIT: Senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) held a high-level meeting in Gilgit to discuss possible arrangements for government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan following the recent political developments in the region.
The meeting brought together key representatives from both parties and focused on various proposals related to the formation of the next government. The discussions are significant as both parties continue consultations on the political future of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PML-N delegation included Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Engineer Amir Muqam and PML-N Gilgit-Baltistan President Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman.
The PPP delegation comprised senior party leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, former Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, PPP Gilgit-Baltistan President Amjad Hussain Advocate and Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
According to participants, the meeting reviewed the current political situation in Gilgit-Baltistan and explored multiple options for government formation. Both parties agreed to present the proposals discussed during the meeting to their respective central and provincial leaderships.
Party leaders said further consultations would continue before a final decision is made regarding the future political setup in Gilgit-Baltistan. The meeting concluded with an understanding to advance the consultation process in the coming days.
