PMD forecasts rainfall, strong winds across Pakistan ahead of Ramadan

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall accompanied by strong winds in various parts of the country over the coming hours, as weather conditions shift ahead of Ramadan.

According to the Met Office, Islamabad is expected to remain partly cloudy today. In Punjab, rain is likely in Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur, while showers are also anticipated in Multan and nearby districts.

In Balochistan, Quetta and surrounding areas are expected to receive rainfall, with some locations experiencing gusty winds. Coastal regions, including Gwadar, may witness rain along with isolated hailstorms.

Parts of Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, are also forecast to receive light to moderate showers at scattered locations.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Dera Ismail Khan, Parachinar and adjoining areas, with intermittent windy conditions.

The PMD further stated that Gilgit-Baltistan will remain cold with partly cloudy skies, while Azad Kashmir may experience rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms at a few places.

Authorities have advised residents to stay updated with weather alerts, especially in areas prone to strong winds and thunderstorms, as preparations continue for Ramadan activities across the country.
