PM Shehbaz Sharif recognises National Bank of Pakistan for economic contributions

ISLAMABAD, Feb 6, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has recognised the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for its significant contributions to Pakistan’s national economy.

The recognition was conferred during a ceremony held in Islamabad, where the prime minister presented an award to Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President and Chief Executive Officer of NBP. The event honoured leading exporters and bankers for their performance during the 2024–25 period.

According to officials, the award highlights NBP’s role in supporting export growth and strengthening Pakistan’s financial sector. Through its banking services and strategic partnerships, the institution has played a key role in facilitating trade, supporting businesses, and contributing to broader economic development.

Senior government officials, prominent bankers, business leaders, and exporters from across the country attended the ceremony.

NBP officials said the bank remains committed to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth by supporting the business community, strengthening financial intermediation, encouraging innovation, and contributing to Pakistan’s long-term economic stability and resilience.
