PM directs for construction of modern hotels, other facilities to promote tourism
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reviewed the preparations for Hajj 2025 and ordered that no sloppiness in the preparations will be tolerated. “Pilgrims are the guests of Allah Almighty, therefore no carelessness will be accepted when it comes to services and assistance for them,” the Prime Minister emphasized. The Prime Minister, who chaired a meeting here to review preparations for Hajj 2025, ordered to provide all possible facilities and assistance to the Hujja (pilgrims) during the upcoming Hajj. He instructed to prepare a comprehensive briefing with regard to the preparation of Hajj 2025 and present it in the coming days. He also ordered to submit a detailed briefing on the selection criteria of Moavineen Hajj (Hajj Assistants), their responsibilities and other arrangements. He said the pilgrims should be provided with the best possible training facilities, besides ensuring the selection of capable officers of good repute for the Hajj service. He also ordered special care for the stay, travel and other facilities for the pilgrims. “There must be merit and transparency in deploying Moavineen. Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema attended the meeting. Chaudhry Salik Hussain and other relevant top officials. In the meeting, she was briefed in detail about the progress of the Hajj Fund, which was in its final stages. The meeting was told that similar to the previous year, mobile phone SIM cards would be provided to pilgrims from Pakistan and that a mobile application to help Hujjaj was operational. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed relevant authorities to prepare a comprehensive report for the construction of new modern hotels and other facilities through joint ventures and public-private partnerships to promote tourism in the country. “Due to the availability of modern facilities, tourism will be boosted across the country,” the prime minister said while presiding over a meeting on Capital Development Authority (CDA) affairs here. The Prime Minister appreciated the performance of the CDA for the successful organization of recent international conferences and other events in the federal capital. “The opening of international conferences in Pakistan is a confirmation of our success on the diplomatic front,” he said, adding that the confidence of friendly countries had been restored due to the ongoing efforts of the incumbent government. The prime minister emphasized the need to further improve hotels, hospitals and other facilities to host international level conferences and events in the country. Its aim was to ensure the provision of international standard facilities for guests from friendly countries. He also directed the CDA to further improve the facilities for the residents of the federal capital. The meeting was informed that preliminary reports had been prepared on the feasibility of constructing new hotels and reviving defunct government buildings in Islamabad. Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, Chairman CDA and other top officials attended the meeting.
