Pind Dadan Khan: The Bar Association Pind Dadan Khan has threatened to go on strike due to delays and lack of funds for the Lillah-Jhelum Dual Carriageway project. In a letter to the Chief Minister, the lawyers expressed their deep concern over the extraordinary delay in the release of funds and the commencement of work on the project.
According to the letter, the Bar Association stated that the Lillah-Jhelum Dual Carriageway project holds great importance for the socio-economic development of the region. Despite repeated assurances and promises from the government, the ongoing delay has caused immense frustration and economic losses to the local population. Due to the incomplete road, people are facing severe difficulties, frequent accidents, and a significant hindrance to regional development.
The lawyers demanded the immediate release of allocated funds and the start of construction without further delay. They also urged the authorities to share a clear timeline for the project’s completion with the public. General Secretary of the Bar Association Pind Dadan Khan, Chaudhry Amir Shehzad Ghaon, stated that if their demands are not met within seven (7) days of the letter being received by the concerned authorities, the Bar Association will call for a strike and protests. This may include an indefinite boycott of court proceedings and mobilizing public support to pressure the government to fulfill its responsibilities. He added that senior officials should take immediate and effective steps to prevent such extreme measures.
