A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight attendant has been arrested for smuggling mobile phones onto the ground. Customs officers at the Lahore airport claimed to have found the phones after she arrived from Abu Dhabi. According to customs officials, the flight attendant had dozens of expensive mobile phones on board flight PK 264. The phones were found during baggage check upon arrival at Lahore airport. Customs officials announced that the mobile phones had been seized and a disciplinary inquiry had been launched against the administrator. Authorities continue to investigate the matter and determine the extent of the smuggling. Two days earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) released two crew members after an investigation confirmed their involvement in mobile phones. PIA employees identified as Mohammed Mumtaz and Asifa Naaz have been dismissed from their jobs after an investigation found them guilty of smuggling mobile phones, a PIA spokesperson said.
