Peshawar AI Summit held at NIC as part of nationwide Indus AI Week

PESHAWAR — The Peshawar AI Summit was held at the National Incubation Center Peshawar as part of the nationwide Indus AI Week, a countrywide series of events focused on artificial intelligence and innovation across Pakistan.

The event brought together students, entrepreneurs, researchers and technology professionals to discuss practical applications of artificial intelligence. Organisers said the summit aimed to provide participants with hands-on insights into how AI tools can be applied in education, research and business.

The programme featured expert-led sessions on “Practical AI for Learning and Research using NotebookLM,” “Building Real-World AI Applications,” and “Agentic AI & Automation.” Speakers discussed emerging trends in automation, machine learning tools and the growing role of AI in solving real-world problems.

Asim Ishaq Khan, Project Director of NIC Peshawar, said the broader Indus AI Week initiative reflects efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s position in the artificial intelligence sector. He noted that hosting the summit aligns with the centre’s focus on supporting youth, startups and researchers with practical technical knowledge.

Shafeeq Gigyani, Program Manager at NIC Peshawar, said the objective was to make AI more accessible and application-driven. He added that the sessions were designed to encourage participants to explore building and automating systems using AI-based tools.

Indus AI Week events are being organised in multiple cities to promote awareness and collaboration in emerging technologies.
