PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company has declared five more feeders load-shedding free, allowing consumers connected to these feeders to receive uninterrupted electricity supply.
The newly declared load-shedding-free feeders include Debgari Feeder and Mall Road Feeder in Peshawar, Town Feeder in Mardan, and Saidu Shareef and Express Chakdara City feeders in Swat. PESCO said consumers on these feeders will receive 24-hour power supply.
With the latest addition, PESCO has declared 18 feeders load-shedding free over the past three months.
PESCO Chief Executive Officer Engr Akhtar Hamid Khan said efforts were being accelerated to bring more feeders into the load-shedding-free category on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari.
He said PESCO Board of Directors Chairman Himayatullah Khan was also taking interest in the initiative, with reduction of load shedding across the PESCO region being treated as a priority, especially during the summer season.
Anti-theft campaign continues
According to PESCO, more than 6,000 illegal electricity connections were removed during anti-theft operations over the past three months.
The company said fines amounting to Rs160 million were imposed on people involved in electricity theft during the same period.
Engr Akhtar Hamid Khan said anti-theft operations were continuing on different feeders and expressed hope that more feeders would be declared load-shedding free in the coming days.
