PERA Force Jhelum Holds Command Change Ceremony, Vows Action Against Inflation

Pind Dadan Khan) Mushtaq Raza): PERA Force Jhelum marked a significant transition during a formal change of command ceremony held at the Jhelum District Headquarters. Deputy Commissioner Jhelum, Mir Raza Ozgen, and District Police Officer Tariq Aziz Sandhu attended as special guests. Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Sania Safi and other district officers were also present.

During the ceremony, the SDEO PERA Jhelum handed over the command stick to DC Jhelum, Mir Raza Ozgen, officially appointing him as Commander of PERA Force Jhelum. The force presented a special salute to the new district commander, symbolizing the start of a new operational phase.

While addressing the gathering, Commander PERA Force and Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgen emphasized the organization’s commitment to “citizens’ welfare.” He stated that PERA operates without discrimination and upholds the rule of law. Moreover, he stressed that the force will actively curb inflation, prevent hoarding, and ensure price control across the district.

He further explained that PERA is Pakistan’s first regulatory authority of its kind. Its core mission is to protect consumer rights during inflationary periods. In addition, it takes swift and organized action against those who create artificial shortages through unlawful hoarding of essential goods.

District Police Officer Tariq Aziz Sandhu also addressed the ceremony. He affirmed that PERA Force Jhelum will enforce official price rates and monitor market compliance. He noted that the staff under PERA has been granted special powers to fulfill this mandate. Furthermore, he highlighted that the initiative aligns with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision to relieve citizens from inflationary pressure.

The ceremony concluded with mutual appreciation between civil and law enforcement officials. The change of command signals a renewed push for market regulation and consumer protection under the leadership of Mir Raza Ozgen.
