PESHAWAR: PepsiCo International has signed an agreement with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company to acquire 13.04 acres of land at Hattar Economic Zone, marking a new phase of industrial expansion in the province.
The deal will support a PepsiCo investment in Hattar Economic Zone worth approximately Rs700 million, aimed at expanding the company’s concentrate plant—one of only a limited number of such facilities worldwide. Officials say the move is expected to strengthen production capacity and enhance Pakistan’s role in regional supply chains.
Authorities said the Hattar Economic Zone offers strategic connectivity through the Hazara Motorway and proximity to Islamabad, making it a key logistics hub for both domestic and international operations.
KPEZDMC officials described the agreement as a positive signal for foreign investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that global companies are increasingly considering the province for industrial projects.
PepsiCo representatives said the decision to expand in Hattar was influenced by operational efficiency, infrastructure, and support from local authorities during the planning process.
The project is expected to generate direct employment opportunities, along with indirect economic benefits through supply chains and related industries.
KPEZDMC, the provincial body responsible for developing and managing economic zones, said the agreement aligns with its broader strategy to attract investment and promote sustainable industrial growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
