WASHINGTON, November 5, 2026: The Pentagon has reportedly instructed US military forces to prepare for the possible resumption of large-scale operations against Iran, including plans to deploy additional military assets to the Middle East, according to a US media report.

Citing American officials, Axios reported that the preparations are intended to ensure US forces are ready if President Donald Trump decides to authorise renewed military action against Iran.

The report stressed that the preparations do not mean Trump has made a final decision to launch another military campaign. No formal announcement of a new operation has been made by the US administration.

According to the report, the contingency planning includes the possible deployment of additional military equipment and resources to the region to support potential operations.

If military action resumes, the operations could involve extensive airstrikes against targets in Iran, including nuclear facilities, energy installations and critical infrastructure.

The report also raised the possibility of Israeli military involvement in any renewed campaign, although no decision on such participation has been announced.

The reported preparations come amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran, with diplomatic efforts to resolve their differences also underway.

Any resumption of major military operations could further escalate tensions across the Middle East, where the prospect of renewed confrontation between the United States and Iran remains a significant security concern.

The reported military planning remains a contingency measure rather than confirmation that a new conflict is imminent.
