PESHAWAR: The Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) held an online e-Khuli Kachehri to directly address public complaints, issuing on-the-spot instructions for resolving issues as part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s transparency and governance reforms.
The session, conducted live on Facebook under the chairmanship of PEDO Chief Executive Engineer Anwarul Haq, aimed to improve public access to government institutions and ensure timely redress of concerns under the provincial Good Governance Road Map.
Public participation and key issues raised
A total of 31 participants from various districts joined the session and highlighted a range of issues, including delays in solar projects at schools, mosques, and public facilities, challenges in developing mini and micro hydropower projects in underserved areas, and concerns related to recruitment processes within PEDO.
Participants engaged directly with officials, presenting their grievances and seeking solutions through an open and interactive forum.
On-the-spot directives issued
During the two-hour session, the CEO listened to public concerns via live calls and directed relevant officers to take immediate action on the issues raised. Officials present in the session were instructed to ensure prompt follow-up and resolution.
Members of the public described the initiative as a positive step toward transparency, accountability, and merit-based governance.
Initiative to continue regularly
Concluding the session, Engineer Anwarul Haq said the e-Khuli Kachehri was an important measure to reduce the gap between citizens and institutions while promoting openness in administrative processes.
He announced that similar sessions would be held regularly every two months to provide citizens with a direct platform to voice concerns and receive timely responses.
