The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to national cricketers seeking to participate in the upcoming Afghanistan Premier League (APL).

According to sources, the PCB has taken a decision to prevent Pakistani national players from participating in the tournament, meaning they will not be allowed to join the league without the board’s approval.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram had also received an offer to work as a mentor in the Afghanistan Premier League. However, the legendary fast bowler reportedly decided not to go against the PCB’s policy.

Meanwhile, the PCB has maintained its position on issuing NOCs to national cricketers for participation in the Afghan tournament.

Mohammad Amir Joins Afghanistan Premier League

The development comes after former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir became part of the Afghanistan Premier League.

Amir has joined the Kandahar Warriors and is participating in the tournament as a British citizen.

His participation has drawn attention because the PCB’s NOC restrictions apply to its national players, while Amir is taking part in the league in his capacity as a British citizen.

The latest decision highlights the PCB’s position regarding the participation of Pakistani national cricketers in overseas leagues, particularly the Afghanistan Premier League.
