LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined fast bowler Naseem Shah PKR 2 crore after finding him in breach of multiple clauses of his central contract and the board’s social media guidelines.
The action followed disciplinary proceedings initiated after a show-cause notice was issued to the player on March 27, 2026. The PCB reviewed his response before conducting a personal hearing through a three-member disciplinary committee.
According to the board, the committee concluded that Naseem Shah had violated contractual obligations despite submitting an unconditional apology. Based on its findings, the committee imposed a financial penalty of PKR 2 crore.
The PCB also noted that Naseem Shah had terminated his social media adviser, who will now be blacklisted and barred from working with any player under the board’s jurisdiction.
Officials said the decision reflects the PCB’s commitment to maintaining professional standards, enforcing contractual discipline, and safeguarding the integrity of the game.
