PC Hospitality took part in the World Economic Forum Travel, Tourism and Aviation governors meeting, held alongside the Tourise platform in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, bringing together senior leaders to discuss the future direction of the global tourism and hospitality sector.
The gathering convened executives from international hotel groups, policymakers and industry stakeholders to examine how tourism can evolve toward more sustainable, inclusive and community-focused models. Discussions were guided by the World Economic Forum’s recently issued Principles for Transformative Tourism, which aim to balance economic growth with environmental protection and social impact.

According to organisers, the meeting focused on aligning global hospitality practices with long-term sustainability goals, strengthening local economies and encouraging collaboration across regions. Major international brands, including Kempinski, Accor and Rotana, were represented among the participants.
As part of the international delegation, PC Hospitality shared its perspective on responsible development in emerging markets, with particular emphasis on local economic participation, workforce development and community engagement.
Bastien Blanc, chief executive officer of PC Hospitality, said the company’s participation reflected its commitment to responsible growth within the sector. He noted that hospitality groups have a role in supporting local communities, preserving cultural heritage and adopting environmentally responsible practices.
Focus on sustainability and local impact
During the meeting, PC Hospitality highlighted several priority areas aligned with the forum’s broader objectives. These included adopting sustainable operational practices, increasing engagement with local suppliers and producers, expanding training and career development programmes, and promoting tourism models that respect local cultures and communities.
The company also emphasised the importance of collaboration with international peers to help shape shared standards for responsible tourism across regions.
Industry participants described the Riyadh gathering as part of a wider effort to reposition global tourism toward long-term value creation, particularly as destinations and operators respond to environmental pressures and changing traveller expectations.
